Sculpture Park, Seattle, WA, USA

Today, its a walk along on the north harbor in Seattle ... One of the first art pieces you see is a strangely bare tree that on closer examination, is made of metal.A glance to the water shows a fast little ferry that travels from Victoria.Residents of Seattle take to the water in everything from rowboats & sailboats to yachts.
Across the water huge cranes load goods onto cargo ships. A restaurant is perched on the hill with terraced lawns and a stage at the bottom. A wedding is happening on this warm summer evening. An interesting wall is designed to show reflections. This old refinery site has been re-energized into a park designed around huge art structures. This was my favorite - it became a new shape each time you looked from a different point. Chairs are scattered around, allowing people to group to meet their immediate needs. Here, the footings look like draped fabric. To give an idea of location, the structure looks north to the Space Needle. As the light changes at sunset, the sculpture looks like a giant bird of prey. To the south, you can walk along the docks - now filled with great restaurants and tourist shops.People are encouraged to become interactive. Performance art occurs on a regular schedule. The hillside provides children with creative play.Wealthy Seattle families have donated to make the park 'for the people'. State of the art cameras and security watch the artwork and pathways to ensure that it all stays safe and well.
As night falls, a golden glow fills the skies.
