The ACT Gallery in Maple Ridge has an excellent First Nations Art Show of Lyle Wilson's paintings on wood and paper. This is the first time these pieces have been brought together.
The Katzie First Nations welcomed us to the opening.
A song from Kitimat, Lyle's home. His designs are based on Haisla legends,
some with a modern interpretation.
The fine detail of Lyle's work is amazing. This is a unique showing of his painting. Lyle is currently working in sculpture.
You can find out more: http://www.theactmapleridge.org/gallery-current
A book highlighting the pieces is available.
