Nova Scotia, Mahone Bay

The first view of Mahone Bay across the water ...Mahone Bay is a town that started in the late 1700's.
And ... there is a charming Quilt Shop ... that is our CQA/ACC Past President spending $$$ again. The upper attic is a showcase for quilts.Old fashioned hooked rugs making is taught. My grandmother made these rugs ... a deep pink rose on a black background. She wrote away for the pattern. The fabric was made from old woollen long johns that she cut into strips and dyed. This young man waits for customers to the gallery. This is a private home. I love the colours! The old buildings have been renovated and continue to serve. And ... if you still have money left over at the end of the day ... come and visit here ... you will find lots of variety and good prices.

I have been to this store, and I love it. I've never seen so many quilting notions on that left wall in my life!! Check store hours before visiting. Last time I was by, they were closed. I could have cried!!!!
