The source of the word is digit which is Latin and refers to the fingers of the hand. I thought about contemporary use: clocks, computers and even the abucus.I have been fascinated with fractals. They involve repeating a pattern to infinity. We would have great difficulty illustrating them if it weren't for digital binary code. So ... I printed one on cloth and highlighted it by stitching.
