Holy Trinity Orthodox Ukrainian Church

I had the good fortune to visit this beautiful church located in Vancouver. The doors that welcome the parishiners are beautifully carved. Much of the decoration was done in the 'old country' or by artisans who came from the Ukraine. The interior of the church was rich in tradition and beautifully decorated for mother's day. We were given permission to take pictures. I was invited to light a candle for my father who passed away in April. It is amazing how peaceful I felt in the church. Society has largely removed themselves from the supportive community of the church. Table linens were skillfully stitched in traditional patterns.Another skill is shown in the enamelwork and iconic painting. This church is new in comparison to the churches of Europe, but contains the traditions and ceremony.
