On the way to Winnipeg

We headed to Penticton in the Okanagan Valley.
The Coastal Mountains where misty.
When we stopped for a break for lunch, two friendly horses joined us.
Only a few trees were golden, they hid in sheltered valleys.A covered bridge on the Similkameen River ...At Keremeos, the fruit & veggie stands were full of glorious colour. We spent a few lovely days in Penticton, visiting family and the two characters below:
We hiked up 'Giant's Head' for a fabulous view.
It is Wine Festival month!A walk along Okanagan Lake had a chill wind ...and the wind created this cross pattern of waves on a point of the beach. As we headed to Canmore, the scenery was colourful.
This was a fabulous year for sockeye salmon. They were working their way up the river to spawn. They need to fight their way upstream.
Soon, the Rocky Mountains were in view.
As we came into Canmore, the sky looked like a painting. We spent time with my brother and walked along the Bow River.Canmore has cute little bunnies ... who are becoming a problemWe hiked around Johnson Lake.
This quilt was in a restaurant in Banff. It is old, made of men's work shirts and tied rather than quilted.Heading to north of Calgary, we knew we were in the 'west'.
In Edmonton we visited my husband's cousin. He was lost, and now he is found! It was a special time to explore family connections.
Align LeftFrom Edmonton, we flew to Winnipeg.

Beautiful pictures! I loved the Airedales. We used to have an Airedale. She was the best pet we ever owned.
