This is the style of house my dad built after the war.
We lived on Valermo Drive and the neighborhood story is that an Italian contractor wanted to alter his house and the by-laws prevented it. He got permission to build a wine cellar. In the process, he made a foundation around the house, built walls up, sent his men in and demolished the old house.
We had a park behind our home. In he winter, we skated on the pond. It is now much more developed with a playground.
