One of the
CQA/
ACC board tasks was a trip to Calgary to look at the site for the Quilt Canada Conference in 2010. The National
Juried show will be accompanied by concurrent shows and a great line-up of teachers and lectures. We stayed in the charming little town of
Cochrane and headed east, down the road at dawn to tour the Hyatt Hotel and the
Telus Conference Center.

The foothills lay to the west.

The Hyatt hotel is in the heart of Calgary. The view from the hotel is of a city that is growing by leaps and bounds. The photo below shows a beautiful old church preserved in the midst of new growth.

The Hotel is built to incorporated some of the original walls and windows of the site.

All conference workshops can be accessed from inside walkways or outside along a wide mall.
With the board meeting over, my husband and I headed north to
Canmore.
