Julie's Round Robin Fabric Book: Nature

The first page I made for Julie is a sandwich of fresh flowers and wonder-under. Method: layer fabric, wonder-under, flowers, wonder under, a layer of net. Cover with parchment paper or non-stick press cloth. Use medium heat and press several times until the flowers are dry. Glitter was sprinkled and the sandwich was ironed again.

Small flowers with thin petals are best. I used two lilly petals, clematis, violas, buttercups and a little lavendar daisy. The fine green is bronze fennel.

Page two is a my digital photograph printed on fabric and stitched.
Fancy yarn trims the edge

Hi Vivian, I got the shells, the tiny round ones from Joggles, the others I found a string of them at Joann's and cut them apart. All ready had holes in them:)

I've just come from "new photos" of Advanced Fiber Postcards group after seeing your wonder-under sandwich! I haven't tried that for a while so thank you for the refresher.

I tried sun printing for the first time Sunday and had great success with ferns... Your picture has inspired me with an idea for a postcard fern sandwich that I must try today!! I wonder how well it will go through the mail?!!

My grandparents were Canadian and family history says some of them settled on Maple Ridge - although it may be a different "Ridge" as it's in New Brunswick - I think :)
